It’s Wednesday (June 24) and tonight doesn’t sound good weather-wise in the Chicago area, so I’m going to get away from it all with WYCC-TV of Chicago’s lineup of travel programs that run every Wednesday beginning at 8 p.m. CDT. The following is tonight’s lineup.
8 p.m. — “Rick Steves’ Europe” — It’s a 2001 program called “The Best of Sicily.” The highlights include fishing for anchovies off Cefalu, a visit to Palermo, viewing the mosaics of Monreale and seeing the ruins of Segesta.
8:30 — “Joseph Rosendo’s Travelscope” — See the wonders of the Swiss resort of St. Moritz.
9 — “Globe Trekker” — The season 10 opener pays a visit to Antarctica. There’s kayaking and penguin watching in Paradise Harbor, observing the work of Ukrainian biologists in Port Lockrov and using the Drake Passage to get to South America.
UNTIL NEXT TIME. . .
