It’s that time of the week and WYCC-TV in Chicago (Channel 20 over-the-air and on some cable TV systems) has its Wednesday night (July 29) lineup of travel programs.
8 p.m. (CDT) — “Rick Steves’ Europe” — This 2004 episode takes us to the Castile region of Spain with stops in Toledo and Salamanca. I have written before about the high quality of Steves’ programs, but I just feel his programs on Spain really brought that country to life and made me want to visit there one day. His programs can also be viewed on ricksteves.com.
8:30 p.m. — “Joseph Rosendo’s Travelscopre” — Tonight’s stop is Taiwan with a visit to Orchid Island, home of the Tao ethnic minority. Rosendo will try the native cuisine and explore traditional dwellings. There’s also a visit to Green Island to explore its volcanic landscape.
9 p.m. — “Globe Trekker” — The program is in central Japan tonight with stops in Kyoto and Osaka. While in Kyoto, we get to see the Fushimi Inari Shinto Shrine and the Toji Buddhist Temple.
UNTIL NEXT TIME. . .
