Recent published reports stated that the International Olympic Committee is working on keeping its film archive in the best condition possible and many of its films have been or are currently being remastered.
One of them was just posted on the IOC’s YouTube channel this past Wednesday (July 22). It’s the official film of the 1956 Summer Olympics held in Melbourne, Australia.
I had seen part of the film a long time ago and this version is amazing. I am a fan of the Olympics and interested in Olympic history and enjoyed the entire film. But I would encourage you to watch just 5, 10 minutes of it to see what I consider one of the best remastering jobs of any film.
It is so clear and vivid. Watching makes you feel like you are right there watching everything.

UNTIL NEXT TIME. . .
