The day has arrived! “As The D.J. Turns” will now reveal what I consider the top 2 best DiNozzo episodes ever of “NCIS.” I hope you have enjoyed the countdown. All is set. I am in my rented tux! : )

2. “Nature of the Beast” — The Season 9 opener had DiNozzo in the hospital after a special, secret assignment, that he had received from the Secretary of the Navy, went bad. An NCIS agent is dead, another missing. And DiNozzo is damaged goods. Dr. Rachel Cranston (Wendy Makkena), a psychologist or psychiatrist, is helping him sort it out. It’s Weatherly’s best dramatic work as DiNozzo.

AND NOW THE NO. 1 EPISODE ON THE LIST! THE ENVELOPE PLEASE!

1. “Truth or Consequences” — This episode, which started Season 7, is the perfect DiNozzo episode with a combination of both humor and drama. DiNozzo and McGee (Sean Murray) intentionally get themselves captured by terrorists, led my Omid Abtahi (Saleem Ulman), who are holding Ziva hostage after the Mossad mission she went on in the final episode of the previous season went wrong. DiNozzo tells of life at NCIS and the people there to Abtahi as he tries not to give any secrets out after being given truth serum. But he lets his feelings known for Ziva the first time. One of the best funny lines of the episode is when DiNozzo describes Gibbs, “Former Marine sniper. Coffee aficionado. Functional mute.” And if an “NCIS” fan didn’t get a lump in their throat at the end of the episode, I don’t believe them.

With the season finale tonight (May 17) and DiNozzo’s final episode, I will give my season grade to “NCIS” tomorrow and should post one for “Chicago Fire” the following day. “Chicago Fire” will also have its season finale tonight.

UNTIL NEXT TIME. . .
