There are plenty of places to go and see tonight (Wednesday, June 1) with the slate of travel programs on WYCC-TV in Chicago.
7:30 p.m. — “Weekend Explorer” — Taiwan’s East Coast is visited and highlights include paragliding in Saijia, hiking near the city of Taitung and trips to Green Island and Taroko Gorge.
8 p.m. — “Rick Steves’ Europe” — Rick explores western Norway and sails beneath towering fjord cliffs, hikes on glaciers and explores traditions in remote farm hamlets.
8:30 p.m. — “Joseph Rosendo’s Travelscope” — Joseph heads to Papua New Guinea and meets Huli Wigmen, which is a native tribe, and goes on a Sepik River excursion.
9 p.m. — “Globe Trekker” — West Texas is the subject of this episode. Stops include Austin, San Antonio and El Paso. The Alamo and a haunted hotel are visited. A road trip along Route 66 includes the Palo Duro Canyon, a steak-eating challenge in Amarillo and the ghost town of Glenrio.
