From Asia to Europe and to Central America, tonight’s (Wednesday, June 22) travel programs on WYCC-TV in Chicago certainly span the globe.
7:30 p.m. — “Weekend Explorer” — This episode certainly doesn’t deal with just a weekend trip. China is a place one needs time to explore. Tonight, the visit is to Guangzhou, an area that has played a key role in Chinese history.
8 p.m. — “Rick Steves’ Europe” — Rick takes a trip from the French border to Santiago de Compostela in the northwest corner of Spain. He stops in Pamplona to run with the Bulls and he explores Galicia’s unique Celtic culture.
8:30 p.m. — “Joseph Rosendo’s Travelscope” — Joseph continues his look at Guatemala. He visits Tikal and Yaxha and checks out Maya temples in both areas. He also enjoys a trip to the El Quetzel Biotope Nature Reserve.
9 p.m. — “Globe Trekker” — This week’s host takes a train tour of India where railways were built in the 19th century by the British.
