It’s that time of the week. Sit down in your first-class seat, let the flight attendant pour the first glass of champagne and check out tonight’s (June 29) lineup of travel programs on WYCC-TV in Chicago.

7:30 p.m. — “Weekend Explorer” — This episode deals with Guangdong Province in China. Highlights include the history of the Diaolouhouse castles of the Kaiping World Heritage Site, the unique circular houses of the Hakka clan and the residence of key Chinese historical figure, Dr. Sun Yat-sen.

8 p.m. — “Rick Steves’ Europe” — Rick checks out the Basque region in Spain and France. This visit will show the ancient Basque capital of Gernika, the Guggenheim Modern in Bilbao and include a look at Basque culture including tapa bars and jai alai.

8:30 p.m. “Joseph Rosendo’s Travelscope” — Joseph takes trips to three big Virginia historical sites — Jamestown, Colonial Williamsburg and Yorktown. He also goes kayaking on the Chickahominy River and sails on a four-masted schooner.

9 p.m. — “Globe Trekker” — A Ruta 40 tour of Argentina features Volcan Lanin, the highest peak in the region; Seven Lakes drive and the Lake District in San Carlosde Bariloche. Other stops will be the former hippie colony of El Bolson, Butch Cassidy’s hideout in Cholila; Trevelin, a town founded by Welsh immigrants; and the Cabo Virgenes lighthouse.
